So my *intern and I went to Ireland in the spring of 2012 for vacation. Due to a couple travel planning mistakes on my part, we had leave our hotel at 4am and drive 3 hours to the airport. I woke up at 3:30AM with a pounding headache, and found a huge european (?) ibuprofin (?) that i didn't remember ever buying, and ate it. Then we got in the car for our road trip to Shannon airport, with no time to spare. The second we got in the car, I knew that this pill was going to be a problem. So while Intern was driving down tiny winding roads, trying not to get lost and miss our flight, the only thing I was trying to do was not throw up in the rental car. I succeeded! But intern had to pull over at least 3 times!
Here's why I'm telling this story: There was a moment that I vividly remember. As I was violently rejecting this pill on the freshest, greenest grass, before sunrise, the Irish rain was drizzling on me and there were cows less than 5 feet away from me, I thought, this is the most pleasant place ever to throw up. And that's when I knew I wanted to move to Ireland.
Well intern and I just took a trip to the west of Ireland. It is gorgeous there, and the first thing we did was plan our horseback riding trip on the Atlantic.
This is me the morning of, so so excited.
This is actually a still from an incredibly embarrassing video of me pretending to ride a horse for 8 minutes.
And then we drove 2 hours to meet Sean, our guide and dream maker. However, Sean stood us up, so in order to cheer myself up, I took hundreds of pictures of myself with some random horses that were there.
So. On our way out, we saw the most stunning vision of a horse on a pasture in front of the Atlantic Ocean. I got out of the car. And then this is what happened:
He approached me. Then his friend came over, so naturally, i scooted over for a photo shoot.
So as I was posing, I thought maybe he was biting my coat.
And then i realized he definitely was.
And then his pal went in for the kill. Please look at my face. And horse #2s nostils & mouth compared to the previous picture.
I want you to know that as we approached the horse place, I gave intern strict instruction that if by chance I fell off the horse, to let Sean help me & deal with my injuries, and intern was to take pictures or film it for the blog. THAT IS THE LEVEL OF MY COMMITMENT EVERYONE. JUST LETTING YOU KNOW.
PS During our skype date this morning, I found out that my grandfather and i both love the smell of horse manure. So there's that too.
